People, today like never before are in need of hope. Many are confronted with discouraging health issue because of Covid-19. Others are dealing with unemployment and family relationship issues to name a few. All of these issues can cause one to be fearful anxious and feel utterly overwhelmed.

When Isaiah prophesied of the coming of the “Wonderful Messiah” (Isaiah 9:6), he was encouraging Israel to remember that the Messiah was indeed coming to establish His Kingdom on earth (Isaiah 9:7). A Child will be born to fulfill the Davidic Covenant: a Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. This prophecy gave the people of God hope that they so desperately needed.

Choose not to look at the circumstances but look to God. The greatest temptation in hard times is to believe that God is not able or that He is able but won’t do it for me. Not so. Look at past evidences. Sure, life is hard, but when has God failed you or forgotten you? When has He overlooked your difficulties or left you alone to face them? God is always good. We may not know His purposes, but we do know His heart.

To the mothers with a sick child hope thou in God – to the bereaved brothers and sisters who are missing and longing for their love ones hope thou in God – to my younger brothers and sisters that are so confused by what you are experiencing in this present time, hope thou in God.

We can trust Him to listen to our problems and guide us in the right direction (Proverbs 3:6). We can be sure He is listening because He told us to pray to Him about our worries (Philippians 4:6, James 1:5). We can be certain that He has our best interest in mind because He loves us (I John 4:19).
